Let’s talk about quality!

April saw us pick up our bimonthly zoom calls again! This time it was Livio, our Director General, who took the opportunity to speak to us about quality. When you dig beneath this term, there are some serious processes and questions that get to the heart of what the NGO does.

The question of quality is becoming ever more important as the NGO continues its path of exponential growth.

We’ve gone beyond 17,000 Freskers and 350,000 workshop participants all over the world. At the same time, Climate Fresk working groups are being deployed at increasing rates everywhere.

We have started thinking about this at a global level to make strides in this direction. This will enable us to reach people of every age, culture and professional environment.

Such growth brings new challenges

Firstly, there is the distance between the small group of people who launched Climate Fresk in the beginning and the global Fresker community today, which consists of the people in France, Australia, Senegal etc. There is a real geographic distance between us!

The increasing scale of the NGO comes with a growing reputation. We are on the radar of more and more important people: Valérie Masson-Delmotte, the Croatian Prime Minister (yes , a Prime Minister!) Yann Arthus Bertrand, etc. !

The size of the NGO, the media coverage and the levels of engagement we’re getting from organisations and the general public is pushing us to strengthen the qualitative nature of our work.

Such growth brings new challenges

To help expand our climate education movement, we’ve begun an exercise in simplification and have started putting in place processes to make organising a Climate Fresk workshop as easy as possible.

The permanent team has grown and will continue to do so. They are now 26 and the recruitment for others is underway. Please apply if you’re interested and share with people you know. You’ll find all the open positions in France here.

Some of the team are working very hard to build a new platform that will simplify operations for everyone. It will improve how we all count the number of workshop attendees, so we can know many people Climate Fresk really reaches, and will simplify the processes for Freskers.

The Freskers journey is more robust than ever. Our aim is to enable all existing and future Freskers to build on their skill sets, so that every workshop maximises its impact, like with the MOOCs.

The challenge of ensuring quality is essential. We’re facing these new challenges because the NGO is growing so quickly, and that is very good news indeed!

Climate Collage is now Climate Fresk!

We are still the same! We just changed our name ;)
