Welcome to the updated MOOC and cheat sheet

There's a lot going on here and now more resources are available to facilitators!

Discover the updated facilitation training MOOC!

And here we are! 4 new videos have been added to the facilitation training MOOC. You’ll discover:

  • New facilitation tips and guidelines on how to best embrace this role.
  • Explanations on the concept of active learning.
  • Modes of actions to better grasp what unites all Freskers around the world.
  • Guidance on how to define your audience depending on your experience. For example, it may not be the best idea to run towards climatoskeptics for your first Fresks!

Additionally, the Fresker’s journey video has been updated to give more information about the white belt level, and less about how to become a green or blue belt. Indeed, white belts already have a lot to learn, this information does not need to be presented that early!

Finally, as already announced in last month’s newsletter, the four workshop phases have been renamed:

  • The first phase is now called “Understanding” instead of “Reasoning” as to put an emphasis on the goal of this phase.
  • The second one, originally called “Creativity”, is now named “Creativity and summary” to draw attention to the importance of the few minutes of summary where participants have the opportunity to better grasp the overall dynamics of their freshly created Fresk.
  • The third phase, previously referred to as “Review,” is now “Emotions“: our decisions are greatly influenced by what we feel, not just by what we know, so it is crucial to focus on this aspect of the workshop. The problem must touch us, evoke emotion, since if it remains purely rational, we will not have sufficient motivation to act.
  • Finally, the last part, formerly known as “Debrief”, is renamed “Discussion” to better reflect the reality of this phase and use a more accessible term for everyone.

Please, have a look at these new videos, and encourage the white and yellow belts around you to give a look at them.

The quizzes have also been updated, go check if you get them right!

To access the MOOC, don’t forget to sign in with the same email and password you use for your facilitator’s space.

We also take this opportunity to answer a frequently-asked question about the MOOC: indeed, it is automatically sent to participants ahead of each training session!

And what about the new cheat sheet?

The visual speaks for itself, but we’ve updated the cheat sheet with the V.9 cards, and updated the wording and content, incorporating feedback from the fresking community. We’ve also come up with a more teachable format that you can keep in your pocket!

Climate Collage is now Climate Fresk!

We are still the same! We just changed our name ;)
