Our Coordinators

The COP26 Journey coordinators took up the great responsibility of designing, implementing and refining a strategy to realise our shared vision. They are the ambassadors of the Climate Fresk and the backbone of the COP26 Squad. Mike, Anais and Valentine empower us to take common action and to co-create our project step by step. It’s a long way to COP26 but our coordinators have everything it takes to get us there safely having a big positive impact.

Mike

Mike is our irrepressible driver and strategic thinker being so very caring and attentive at the same time. He sees the potential in people and projects and juggles our multiple objectives with a warm smile on his face.

Valentine

Valentine dreams big (and out of the box) and always manages to translate her genius ideas into action while spreading cheerful encouragements around her. She truly is a kick-ass coordinator, putting her heart and soul into this project.

Anaïs

With Anais, the trio is complete. Her down-to-earth nature and practical thinking makes her the team’s anchor and pillar of strenght. Thanks to her, hundreds of volunteers will not get off track on the way to Glasgow.

Working Groups

We have quite an important principle: Equal Awesomeness. We value every role, every task the same way. Everybody plays an important part of something bigger. We celebrate our work and our people. Scroll your way down to get to know our different missions and don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Local Ecosystem

We dream big: we want Climate Education for everybody. That’s why we have been doing our best to build up a broad network in Glasgow that will allow us to host as many workshops as possible in the run-up to and during COP26. Schools, universities, hubs, offices, event spaces, libraries will be flooded by the 42 cards of our workshop!

COY 16

We are honoured to team up with the 16th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth. As part of COY’s programme, our workshop will support capacity-building of the international youth delegates – not only by strengthening their climate skills but also by handing them a powerful tool. A workshop participant first, a Climate Fresker next.

Volunteer Experience

We want to make sure that this quite ambitious project is a fulfilling experience for all volunteers. Both an adventure and a safespace – inclusive and regenerative and where we, the Climate Education Activists, can thrive. Plus, we are the logistic masters, handling accomodations, transport and ticketing.

Communication

We take care of both internal and external communication: From social media content to press relations, from managing the website to keeping our fellow volunteers up to date via our monthly newsletter. Sometimes a bit too perfectionist, but mostly having a crazy-good time brewing our very own magic potion that tastes of creativity and imagination.

The Volunteers

Apart from handling our quite ambitious projects, we also had the most enriching volunteer experience. Our COP26 Squad was constantly growing and evolving just like a real ecosystem. Sometimes our mission seemed bigger than us, but we embraced challenges bravely and trusted in our ability to leap back and withstand pressure. High five to us being as flexible as bamboo!

We worked hard to have a positive impact and got greatly rewareded: The friendships that emerged during our journey are without doubt the most powerful und beautiful co-benefits of climate action.

Task Forces

Stay at Home Activists

Many Climate Freskers will do their part to raise climate awareness during COP26 right from their home sweet home. Luckily we can count on them to take care of the tasks that don't necessite being in Glasgow but are just as important!

FRONTLINE Activists

Some Freskers could not join the full 12 months-journey, but are happy to help for the last mile! We are bringing 100 international volunteers to Glasgow to make sure we can host as many workshops as possible during the two weeks of COP26!
