Words from... Nancy Moussa, Country Coordinator in Egypt and member of the delegation at COP27

Dear Fresker,

As this was my first time attending a COP, the experience for me was beyond comprehension. I got to meet and cross paths with people from all over the world, with different cultures and different backgrounds. One minute I was talking to a scientist, the next to a politician. I got to network with professors, indigenous people, young people, party delegates…

I also had the chance to be surrounded by an incredible group of people: Freskers who came from everywhere and did everything in their power to defend what they believed in. We even played the first set on the bus on the way to the convention centre! During this time, I found myself speaking with a Colombian negotiator, a Sky News journalist and a deputy from the Israeli parliament!

What was astonishing for me was that each person I met had something to learn from Climate Fresk. No matter who the person was and how educated they were, they rarely had the same level of systemic understanding of climate change that we have at Climate Fresk. The euphoria I got from delivering the knowledge behind climate change, participating in panel discussions, and the way people showed their interest and excitement, was enough to make me determined to accomplish more!
