Meet Maxime Fazilleau, incredible Fresker in the UK!

Solo cycling and camping in Cornwall

Who are you?

I am Maxime, a Frenchman who has been living in London for 10 years. I am an Orange belt Fresker in Climate Fresk and helping the association in the UK in the backend since Summer 2023 as Volunteer Focal Point with Rob, Giles, Jenny and others. We have worked on our online hub and other steps to make life easier for Freskers… I have also helped to kick off some cool Multi-Fresk events with an amazing team of volunteers. In my freetime, I also grow food with other friends and this brings me a lot of joy.

When and how did you join Climate Fresk?

I joined in 2022, 1 year after the initial workshop during a Ma Petite Planète Challenge. I thought it was essential to give some of my time to spread the knowledge. And I’m glad I did.

Why do you run workshops ?

Because it makes me feel connected to the good cause and people. I feel it helps people realise their impact and potential. I believe doing good things is fundamental. I also run the Digital Collage and Textiles Untangled which I believe are really impactful. And recently trained on the Latitudes workshops around Technology and AI and Nos Vies Bas Carbone workshop that is being reworked to fit UK audiences.

What’s your finest moment as a Fresker?

Asking what are the participants willing to commit. You need to make them find an action that is possible, desirable and impactful.

What has Climate Fresk changed in your life?

So much. New friends, new lifestyle, new connections and a simpler but healthier life. Thanks to the wake up call of many Freskers, I left a comfortable job in a corporation to study full time for 1 year and have a bigger impact into the future I hope. It is MSc Digital Politics and Sustainable Development at Northeastern University London. Check it out!

What is Climate Fresk in a nutshell?

A connecting and empowering tool for people who want to do good.

What does Climate Fresk look like in the United Kingdom?

It is a multi-generational community spreading all around the country.

What do you recommend other Freskers to try?

Try other workshops and become a Multi-Fresk Facilitator. You have plenty of choices and most likely one of the topics you are already mastering has its own workshop ready to deploy.
